The beach is relatively clean but the beach access area can be a mess

From town (Isabel II), take 200 toward the east about 1 1/2 miles. Go past the baseball park and look for the Vieques Humane Society on the left. The beach access is 0.3 miles past VHS, where there is a chain link fence on the left. Turn just before the chain link fence.
If you get to Ababor Suites you’ve gone too far. You can turn around or keep going to the point where the road starts to veer toward the right away from the water. There, pull in to a dirt parking area on the left to the beach called Playa Voltio. From here, you can simply enjoy or walk back down the long beach to the left toward Bastimento.
Bastimento Beach is a northside beach with views of mainland PR to the left and Culebra to the right.
A great beach if you have little ones! The protective coral barrier creates a calm pool that perfect for swim and play.
It is a nice long strip of sand for walking, beachcombing, etc. Foot protection is recommended though because most of the “sea glass” here, and there is plenty, hasn’t been tumbled smooth. There is a very shallow protected area right at the edge of the sand which is shielded by a line of reef and rocks. There is good snorkeling as well, depending on wind and waves.
There is some shade along the shore from the bushes and palm trees.
